Nana and PopPop visit

IMGP6966 Sam has solved it again! The color tiles are almost worn off already. I don't know anyone this intense...oh wait...maybe I do! IMGP6967 Loving the hydrangeas! Deb I hear you have some, too! IMGP6968 Waiting for Nana and PopPop to arrive! VIDEO0132
IMAG1989 Yay - they are HERE at long last! VIDEO0136 Sam and PopPop practicing guitar. IMGP6971 Dave serving farm breakfast for all! IMGP6973 Thank you, honey!
IMGP6974 Eagle likes the pancakes! IMGP6975 IMAG1991 They were going so nuts at Bay Hay while Dave and his mom were trying to find some plants that I put them to work with my buddy Ed at the feed section. They easily hauled a 40 lb bag off the shelf and onto the cart to wait for the customer to pull up. Then they carried it to her truck. They LOVED the work. IMAG1993 The mobile coffee shop. This is how Dave entertained the boys earlier in the week when he had to make phone calls while I was in the doctor's office. Dave said it was madness in the truck. I could tell!
IMAG1994 Chicken-proofing the garden before Tour de Coop! They did a great job. IMAG1996 Building a puzzle with Nana! IMAG1998 Harvesting potatoes! IMAG1999 Nana weeding!
IMAG2000 Then mowing - it was an all hands evolution to get ready for hundreds of people to come to Tour de Coop and oogle chickens and gardens. :) VIDEO0137 Playing "nose flutes"! VIDEO0139 Letting chickens out for recess! See them run! IMAG2003 A pear tree grafted and molded to take this shape over 100 years. It's at Bainbridge Gardens.
IMAG2006 Building a driftwood fort out at Fay Bainbridge! IMAG2007 Nana and PopPop enjoying some warm sunshine. IMAG2008 IMAG2010 Nana getting some exercise with Ben!
IMAG2011 Sam is really into puzzles - we got the one on the right for him to do after he zipped through a 100 pc puzzle with Nana and PopPop. IMAG2012 Richard has arrived! It's the day before Tour de Coop and he's installing a hand sanitizing station! IMAG2013 Thanks, Richard! IMAG0267 Getting ready to go to a retirement ceremony with my handsome husband.
IMAG2014 Gail is not afraid to go get eggs, with her Merlin pole handy! Great job! IMAG2015 Ben telling Nana which eggs came from which hens. IMAG2016 man time Man time out on the deck.
IMGP6979 Ben hiding in a box with Nana playing alongside while knitting a blanket for Sam. IMGP6981 It's their first day here I think! IMGP6990 Can you believe he fits in this small box? He loves a good "hide"! IMG 0832 Bill likes this - it is from Mahealani and lives in our kitchen.
IMG 0833 Look what has been happening with this garden area! Amazing! IMG 0834 IMG 0835 Bill and Gail helped Dave and I build hoops over the garden beds to keep the "bratties" out! Just in time for Tour de Coop! IMG 0836 Bill took pictures of the house to send to family back east.
IMG 0837 IMG 0838 IMG 0839 IMG 0840
IMG 0843 Ben (4) and Sam (7) in their jammies :) IMGP6992 Breakfast with Randy and Krissy! This is Sam's guitar teacher and his wife. IMGP6994 Dave - you made an amazing breakfast! IMAG2018 Here's everyone playing and enjoying the sun after breakfast.
IMAG2019 Randy is so much fun. Ben playing uke Ben playing the uke during the kanikapila. VIDEO0140 More kanikapila! IMAG2020 Both boys just love him!
IMG 0844 Thinking about a little cottage where the shed rests...what do you think? A bunkhouse/office. painting bench Dave painting the bench a pretty color! planting with Ben This is a hysterical 47 seconds of gardening with Ben... IMAG0268 Off to Seattle! Poor Nana and PopPop had to run for the ferry! It was the start of a good workout, hoofing it all over Seattle!
IMAG2023 In Pike Place Market - it is so fun there, I always wish we had more time to shop, and more money to spend! It's unreal - the fresh fish and produce, and crafts! IMAG2024 IMAG2026 These guys - Squirrel Butter - were a lot of fun! My favorite guy is on the left! He has red hair, too! I think we are related! VIDEO0141 A video for Tim of Squirrel Butter!
IMAG2027 IMAG2028 I love these fashions - if I were to ever dress up! IMAG2029 On the monorail over to Seattle Center... IMAG2032 And UP ON THE SPACE NEEDLE! What a beautiful day! One of about 30 clear enough to see the far-off mountains.
IMG 0852 I love those Olympics! IMG 0853 That is Mount Rainier - it's hulking presence above the clouds! IMAG2033 Looking WAY up at the top...650 feet up there! IMAG2034 Whoa!
903179-2418003-320-H They snap your picture REALLY quick on the way to the elevator - this is not bad considering we didn't have several minutes to cajole boys into nice looks! IMG 0854 IMG 0855 IMG 0858
IMG 0856 IMAG2035 Now we're at the Pacific Science Center - in the courtyard this 5000 lb granite stone is floating on a thin layer of water - you can spin it around fast! IMAG2038 A fountain where kids were romping. Sam and I took a spin around, hoping it didn't get us soaked! IMG 0859 This is really crazy - the lever below the bike keeps you balanced on a thin rail. I am challening some of my fears here - stiff as a BOARD going around this thing!
IMG 0860 But Sam wanted me to do it since he didn't meet the 100lb weight requirement. Thanks for the picture, PopPop! IMAG2037 Ewww - roaches! IMAG2040 Walking back by the Pike Place market on the way to the ferry. IMAG0270 Dinner at Doc's on the waterfront afterwards - a welcome rest after a very busy day!
IMG 0862 IMG 0863 Cute boys! They hoofed it really well - big hikers. IMAG2041 At a road end with Nana, checking out crabs. She used to look under rocks as a kid, too. IMAG2042 Building a castle for a group of crabs. Sam loves to make little habitats for the families of crabs he catches!
IMAG0272 At the Bloedel for a nice walk. Bill's cell phone camera does cool things because the lens is dirty - but I like the effect! IMAG0274 Some gnomes we found along the way! IMAG2043 A boardwalk and a man-eating plant, I think! IMAG2044 We love these hydrangeas!
IMAG0277 Another restful spot. IMAG2045 Love this picture! IMAG0280 IMAG2046 Ah- another successful egg harvesting outing!
IMAG0308 Bill made this on a huge rock on their last night here. We really enjoyed your visit!
