Finally caught this sneaky dude on film! This trigger fish, the state fish of Hawaii, is about the size of a football! The Hawaiian name means “fish with nose like a pig” and its set-back eyes allow it to feed on sea urchins without getting stabbed in the eye. I am so happy to have gotten a picture of this one, whom I’ve seen several times in this snorkel spot.
