Cream Soda Crew service project, second year in a row at Kristine and Frank's! The kids did a really nice job in service to their school by doing yard work.

Thank you, kids! They got "paid" with Izze sodas and Doritos. All orange!

Some orange mouths!
And some silliness!

Roller hockey families are awesome!

Sam is playing in a D2 game because they're short on players. It was a great experience for him, despite being extremely hot!
Thanks for the pictures, Kim!

A little regrouping in the shade with the Rennas :)

Ben goes to a birthday party while Sam goes to hang with Hap. This was a busy day for mommy...hot and overstimulated!

He loved rapelling down!

But Ben had a great time!

Out clearing trails and I found an opossum carcass! Stil some hair on it! Super cool, right??? ICK!
But then my friend Doug Olson (science teacher - a legendary one I should say) came by for eggs and wanted to see the carcass. He got to take home the mandibles!
Interesting fog layer over Seattle - out on a run.
Nice view from my running route.
Out with my friend Christina who knows so much about bugs and plants. Always interesting share a walk with her!
This is a spit bug who uses water from the plant to create a little protective cocoon for metamorphosis.

These berries are poisonous
Chip and Lise Muser are visiting with their daughters! I found some Norwegian snacks I meant to share with my neighbor, Ingunn, and broke them out to see how you go about eating them. It was delicious! Tomato sardines, cheese and dark bread. Even more awesome was catching up with shipmate Chip and his family after probably about 10 years! We knew them in CT.

Ingunn came over with Esther and Marte!
It was so fun to hear them speaking in Norwegian.
A little cleanup after the gutters were blown out...

Sam stuffing hockey gear in the truck. We're picking up two other boys, too.
A nice note from Kindergarten classes who came to visit!
On the way out, heading back to Emmy's home up the street.

She can see a buddy still riding out there!

Dad arrives to visit! And we promptly have a crazy time catching a ball that blew off a boat, try to return it to the truck in front of us, and lose dad's phone in the process. We drove all over the island chasing hockey gloves (also on the loose - turns out coach Tim had them) and Dad's phone. We got the phone back, big answer to prayer! Found it on the side of the road where we grabbed the ball.
Dave blowing up the ball...
Dave playing in adult league. Ben is sorting sticks to create random teams.
Dad watching Dave's game - two roller hockey games in one day for Dad! He's a trooper!
Ben doing timekeeper - he's quite loud!

Some of the action...

In Port Gamble for breakfast/lunch before heading out to Port Townsend fo rthe day.
Solving!
OMG...
The start of trying to get a three-generation picture!

A nice present from Dad to Ben - a Lego set. Doesn't she look like me? Disturbing!
At the game store - thank you, Dad!
Sam was psyched about these new cards.
At Fort Worden...
Dad really liked the Coast Artillery Museum. It's quite good.
Here are a few displays we checked out...
Triangulating on a ship.
Interesting!
This is quite ODD.
Communications in the field.

I totally want to "enlist"!

Nice beach!
Ben likes his new pencil sharpener. He's really infatuated with the carrier USS Nimitz.
A three generation photo!
Amazing construction as part of the triangle of fire to guard entrance to the Puget Sound and shipyard.
I went through a spooky tunnel.

Sam playing in the D2 game. This might be out of order, but no time to change it now!

I'm growing pumpkins this year. This is a giant pumpkin called Wyatt's Wonder!
Dad making a concoction! I hid some sauerkraut in his ice cream the night before and he DIDN'T notice it!!!!
Ick ;)
Another roller hockey game!
Coach Brett standing in for Tim Harris.
Bainbridge Bakers is open again under new management!
A crazy flicker game everyone loves!
Thanks, Dad!
Relaxing during some chores.
Dad showing me how to roll up a tent properly :)

Dave FINALLY in the hammock we've owned for years!

Hair cuts for boys!
And gold stuff in it!
Ben loved this look.

Interesting scat! Coyote!?
Trying to get a picture of Emmy again. We just got back from trail riding AND being brave checking out a different arena where I'm going to show on July 12.

Wiped out on a trail run while Sam was biking!
EEEEK! I have done this two years in a row now. So odd. Get in a fight with the bike rack, nearly run out of gas on the way to skate camp, then wipe out on a trail run. This year I remembered the trifecta of doom, thought I was in the clear, but then 100 yards from the truck I let down my guard and BAM!
Crazy mom!
Sam doing some hard hill work.
Then we went to see a talk about Rickover. Very interesting to see this poster in the Exchange afterwards!
"Ooohh! I Loooove these little bagels!"

I stepped into a store very briefly to look at a new purse. Found one. It was all quiet outside. It'd been 5 minutes. I wondered what was up. Here's what I found. Ben bouldering on the truck in his socks, and a lady across the lot frowning. Oy.
Calisthenics time! We do odd workouts once a week. Sam went into the garage to find something to bench press and came out with a ladder.
I did the safety check, and he went to town. It's not too heavy, but looks impressive!

They liked how Ben's head looked in this shot.
It's a great way to bond with them, avoid boys fighting during daily "happy hour" when folks are not so happy, and they like muscles!

The Ben Carry is one of the drills we do.
Chickens also interested in fitness. NOT!

Hockey this morning!
Nice healthy snack, there, Farmer Alice! :)
Fundraising again for Roller Hockey! We hit up the folks walking back from the Rotary Auction, selling cold drinks and watermelon.
We had to WORK it I tell you. Imagine folks with hands full trundling to cars. Hot, yes. Thirsty, yes. Willing to dig for a buck? Not so much!
But, a few nice folks indulged us!
AAAAW! Niiice and COOOOLD Ben says!
"Come get it! Watermelons! The best around! Only four slices left!"

He did all these crazy eating moves.
And got a few folks to come by!
THANK YOU!

$90 raised between three families (Petersons and Rennas also baked and helped sell this morning at the rink).
