Alex's mom noted that the boys will work quite readily for some cream soda - so I bought six!
This was a fundraiser for Sam's school auction. I auctioned off "Sam and a small army of friends" to help with spring yard work for an hour. A friend won the bid and put us to work!
We rounded up some friends after hockey and came over.
Thankfully mom was there to help manage some of the boys because I ended up being very busy supervising the axe and machete guys!
Taking a "before" picture!
Love all these silly faces :)

Sam and Alex chose to chop wood.
We also cleared out a garden area and some underbrush so that the...
chicken coop could be relocated!
The choppers :)

Mom did an excellent job organizing these guys out at the road! When Frank took one load back, the boys nearly scattered away to play soccer, but Mom said "Oh! Wait! we should race him and get all these 5 piles into 1!"
And so they did! They were ready when the wheelbarrow came back.
Excellent, excellent work, men!

Stanley and Harris got a turn at the machete.
Notice they are doing a good job keeping their fingers out of the way!
Chasing chickens :)
Harris with some serious machete form!

Passing out cream sodas! When I first took them out of the car, no one could tell it was cream soda because I had to use a beer carrying case from Jiffy Mart to hold all the bottles. At first teh parents thought I was passing out beer!
Funny kids!

They all had a blast!
Rolling around and laughing on the lawn shortly after downing a few sips of cream soda.
Cheers!
My buddy, Kristine, who has also gotten back into riding this year! She inspired me to go find a horse!
Uh oh - shaking it up!
They weren't tired after all that. They came back to our house and dug in the pit, then stayed for dinner. Fun after-party!

Dinner!
This is Phil's mom - she was a real kick :)
She was demo-ing how this hoodie works and got her hair stuck in the zipper!
