week two has been a bit tiring

Week two of our remodel has been tiring…I mentioned the windstorm previously. Well, that blew our fence down and in the tumult of counter guys and carpenters in the house in the early morning, I forgot that Caff might escape. She did. She must have gone on a long, long walk. Mom drove all over Kailua calling her name and feeling really silly. I filed missing doggie reports (she has a chip in her neck that can be scanned by a vet or shelter), left a note at the police station, etc. I was so sad. When Dana came home from work, she found Caff in her yard, asleep on her lanai! She must have found her way back to Dana’s and come in her side gate, which was open. Thank God for answered prayer! Caff was pretty sore and tired that night and seems to appreciate being home, just as much as we appreciate having our family whole again. Funny that she chose Dana’s house, which I guess she figures is the good life with no toddler around to detract from her full attention 🙂

The picture above is Sammy getting to use the nail gun! He has been having so much fun calling himself a “big worker” or a “big workman”! I gave him a bunch of styrofoam today to use as “plywood.” He made me a garage for my laptop and a new table. It was very sweet. Then I brought a special drink back to him – diet soda – and he said right off as he reached for it – “This is what BIG WORKMEN drink!” Now he’s taking a well-deserved nap as I wrap up some work myself. Somehow I’ve managed to keep client projects going despite all the chaos here. I am so tired every morning…maybe because I’m 17 weeks pregnant today?! Ultrasound on Thursday – should be a long one (45 min) since I’m “elderly” – they do a full genetic workup as well to make sure all organs and parts are ok. It will be interesting.

Precious! You’ve still got the desire to be an active and proud mommy through all the chaos.
