Tree trimming time

Last night we enjoyed trimming the tree with mom and Richard – Dave made a great spiked egg nog (yum!). How is it that when you’re a kid, the advent season seems to last a nice, long time, but as an adult it blows by so quickly? Too quickly. Every year we try to appreciate the season more slowly, savor it instead of hoovering it like we do bread pudding. Above is an ornament I made out of sea glass. I thought it looked a bit like a Christmas bell. I made ornaments as gifts as well – they came out really pretty! It is good when you make a present you actually want to keep yourself 🙂 That’s a good sign! This week it’s back to work. I’ll have to suppress the creative lava bubbling up within until nighttime or next weekend. Our friends Matt and Melodie from Washington are coming to visit for the week – we are so excited to see them! Matt is a legend…more on him with a picture this week. Suffice it to say he joined the Army at 40 (?) and kicked butt in boot camp. He’s off to Iraq in January.

A great photo! That ornament may get “stolen.” By someone you know very well. The egg nog was “tops”, so we’re going to Foodland to find it — we bet that’s where Davey shopped! Thanks for a nice evening that helped bring Christmas to the Islands.
