I will be working across three divisions including Client Advisory, Capital Markets and Asset Management assisting the firm’s clients in evaluating commercial real estate loan and asset portfolios to implement credit risk management strategies, support CMBS trading activates of the firm’s broker dealer and capitalize on distressed debt and asset opportunities resulting from the credit market dislocation and adverse economic environment that has materially impacted all areas of commercial real estate. Here’s my new professional bio for the time being….
Douglas Rohrer: Managing Director, Structured Commercial Real Estate Group: Mr. Rohrer recently joined ICP’s Structured Commercial Real Estate Group providing a multi-disciplinary set of competencies and professional experience in real estate deal capitalizations, joint venture structures and transactions having previously served as a structured finance banker and also as a practicing attorney. Most recently, Mr. Rohrer led the capital markets advisory team at Aberdeen Realty Holdings Ltd. (ARH) with a particular focus on assisting borrowers and lenders/special servicers in evaluating distressed or nonperforming debt, the underlying collateral and structuring recapitalization solutions in connection with substantive loan modifications or workouts. Prior to joining ARH in the spring of 2008, Mr. Rohrer was a senior banker in Credit Suisse’s Structured Real Estate Finance Group in New York focusing on the origination, structuring, asset management and securitization of debt for sophisticated real estate investors. Mr. Rohrer led the origination and closing of over $1.2 billion and was integrally involved in over $3 billion in financing at all levels of the capital structure for projects and acquisitions across all asset classes.
Previously, Mr. Rohrer served as an attorney with Sidley Austin LLP’s New York Global Real Estate Group. His practice area focused on capital markets transactions with a special emphasis on structured real estate finance matters as well as commercial real estate transactions & leasing. This has provided a unique breadth of knowledge and expertise benefiting clients as their banker while at Credit Suisse, as an advisor with ARH developing financial solutions within a complex legal framework and now assisting ICP’s clients across a variety of engagements where commercial real estate expertise is essential.
Mr. Rohrer holds a B. A. in Philosophy from the University of California at Santa Barbara and a Juris Doctorate degree with an emphasis in International Business Transactions from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. Mr. Rohrer is admitted to the state bars of New York and California and holds a New York State Real Estate Broker’s License.
