My cousin, Deborah (who lives in MN), emailed me her best guess at the wacky fruit – soursop. You can Google the images, but I’m sure she’s right! Nice work! Good thing I can count on her to tell me what I just bought at the farmers’ market – I can’t always understand the local farmers, so I ask the other ladies buying interesting stuff and ask “what is that? and what do you do with it?” – they are really nice and enjoy sharing their recipes with me.

Sam and I checked out the Y this afternoon. It’s really close to our new house (walking distance) and has an outdoor pool. I dropped him off at the child watch center and he made a bee-line for the toys, never looked back! Poor kid is a little starved for toys since all his stuff is in the “unaccompanied baggage” which arrives tomorrow (a month since he last saw his firetruck!). It will feel like Christmas here tomorrow. It’s amazing that you can survive with so little, though. I really enjoy living like this, as a minimalist, in an 750 sf cottage with little clutter. Getting back to the Y – it was great! I loved the pool, the lap swimming times will coordinate with childcare well, and Sam had a fantastic time playing. As you can see in one picture, he was heartbroken to leave. I didn’t feel too bad, though – older kids were hanging off their mom’s legs and wailing for the same reason when I dropped Sam off. Dave was able to meet me there after the swim – we got some dinner then went to take care of some details regarding the house with the people selling. The current owners are such nice people, and we are all so happy with this transaction. It’s really been an incredible experience. On the way home, Sam was loopy-tired. When we pulled into the driveway, he was gagging himself with his finger and cracking up when he had nasty up-chuck spit-ups! He thought it was totally hilarious! Then he insisted on a shower, instead of his usual bath in the kitchen sink. He is so cute – he knows to put his head in the water, then turn around and put his front in the water, to let me wash him off. Enjoy the pictures and video 🙂 Sammy “drives” at the YMCA (click for video).

What a fantastic post, Alli, with so much news! Loved the movie!! I can just see him gagging himself and laughing at what that does, and I can ‘see” him saying: “I want a shower tonight!”. He is soooooooooooooooooo precious, and getting sooooooooooooo grown up, soooooooooooooo fast! Did I say “soooooooooooooo”? 🙂

Glad the owners are such great people, too, and that it’s all progressing so well. Dave and Sammy looked soooooooooooooo cute when they were leaving the Y. That photo tells the whole story of big daddy’s having to guide their little tykes.

Congrats, Debba! I love reading your posts — it is truly a gathering place here.

    g’nite!

Loved that article Alli! Living where you are looks like an absolute DREAM! I do hope that someday we can come visit. I would love for Sam and Gwen to meet. They would have SO much fun together I think. Maybe not as much fun as we would have though. LOL!!! I practically need to check your site daily! You get your updates up there SO fast! I’m working on 3 picture sections for my site as I type! It’s not going to be done today though. Well, at least I doubt it. 😛

    Love and Miss Ya!!
