The sounds of closing (turn your speakers up!).
We closed on our home today at 11am! How exciting! It was a TON of signatures, as any homeowner already knows 🙂 We had such wonderful people representing us that it was an easy escrow process, and the closing was just icing on the cake. We “record” on Friday, which is when we get the keys. The process here is very deliberate (and often slow), but the painstaking care ensures no mistakes are made along the way. The cable should be turned on tomorrow, and the rest of the utilities will be on for us on Friday when we move out of our beach cottage and into the new home. We’ll post pictures over the weekend once we get settled in a little.

I keep forgetting to mention another minor freak-out I had the other night…Dave was still laughing about it the other day, so it’s probably blog-worthy. We were sitting out on the deck talking and I saw a massive form (about 6″) on the neighbor’s wall. Then it moved when someone opened the door and startled it. I could tell by the oblong shape that it was a huge roach! HUGE! Just a minute later, Dave spotted one by my feet and killed it. No big deal, I’ve seen a few large critters here, no problem. I’m getting used to it. So we go to bed, and I’m just settling in and winding down to go to sleep when all of a sudden I hear and feel a crackly something lightly brushing my cheek! I totally flipped out, threw the blanket off, and did a whisper-scream so I wouldn’t wake Sam. Dave has a move down where he flies out of bed and turns the light on in one swift movement. After a thorough inspection, we found that what I’d heard was most likely the tag on the comforter brushing my cheek. (!!!!) Very funny, I know! Stop laughing! And don’t even THINK about tormenting me with crackly brushy tickly things if you’re visiting over Thanksgiving. I will get even! I promise 🙂
