The view from Hurricane Ridge. One of the views, that is!
Looking North toward Canada.
Dave has the camera. I love all his perspectives on what we're seeing. We just roamed around up here on trails we haven't done before enroute to Kalaloch Lodge on the coast for the night. Then we head back to Lake Crescent for our second night. An Olympic Tour!

It's a rough life up here if you're a tree. A lot of snow piles on top of you, stunting your growth a bit. But you have a great view!
A few wildflowers!
Kind of a tricky path along a slope. At times gives some a tad bit of vertigo!
Great panorama, Dave! This is looking South toward the rest of the Olympics.

There's one...
And two more...
Mommy made it in time!
"I'll tell you when the trail is only this wide!"
Ok - a few more wildflowers - yay! If you want to see a TON - look at the Mt. Rainier folder :)
Dropped-phone selfie is fun!
The faces...oh boy!

At Kalaloch Lodge on the coast. We went from warm and sunny to...wait 'til you see!
A very cool, foggy coastal microclimate which set in about 7 miles from Kalaloch! This is our little suite. Living area and bedroom. Quite nice!
The beach. You're allowed to make a beach fire, too!
Nice room!
People are tired from hiking, driving, and good dinner :)
The next morning - coffee and some pre-treats before a beach walk!
Sam is making something out of charcoal.
Lots and lots of stone skipping. I'm going to keep many of these in here because they are each a fun reminder of the peaceful and timeless stroll.
Comparing skipping stones.
The lodge is in the distance.
It is very hard to catch a shot of Sam without him knowing it!
I love the form!
Daddy caught the splash on this one!
Breakfast time! These sourdough pancakes were GOOD!
We degenerate into funny face pictures quite quickly!
Uh oh...gotta get them out of here.
Oh No! Daddy!
I just got head-butted!
Sorry, Mommy!
Kisses?
Sam can tuck anything in there!
It's getting worse! Oh no!
But the camera is just handling this lighting SO well, isn't it?
More coffee, sir?
Ben's first selfie!
Sam's first selfie!
Bunny time!
We noticed that bunnies chew with their mouths closed. Very nice.
Chipmunk, too!
They look like bunnies watching the bunny!
Daddy helping load up. Thank you!
Ben followed the bunny trail into the bunny hole! He almost dove in!
Heading toward Rialto beach. Do you think those clouds are what we're heading into? It's so sunny out here.
Yup! Sure did cloud up!
Not what it might first appear to be...it's a jellyfish!
Very NW-looking weather. We are walking up to Hole-in-the-Wall at low tide so we can see it. It's 2 miles each way so you have to time it right.
Hard to see the off-shore islets in this weather, but they're there.
Can you see Hole-in-the-Wall? Middle of photo!
Sea anemones!
We made it!
Starfish!
We are not sure what this is. Some kind of fossil?
Looking back down the beach now.
We had to walk on this slipper stuff to get to Hole-in-the-Wall.
Mommy and Ben walking back :)
Getting ready for foursome photo!
I made it again! :)
A perfectly awesome shot behind the back, and a perfectly funny face to brighten it up!
TRYING to get a picture of Sam!
Without him knowing or foiling it! Good luck!
I told the boys this was some sort of sea monster's footprint in the rock :)
Now we're at Lake Crescent! Back in the sun and the cool, clear lake.
The Roosevelt Cabin we just happened to stumble into for a one-night stay - they had a cancellation and we had pre-paid for a different day that we couldn't use, so we just jumped on it! This is an awesome room. You see it here before we explode...
I'm out there with the boys so they can swim and cool off while Daddy unloads. Thanks, honey!
We are on the right side of this little two-unit cottage.
I swam!!! It is my policy to swim in Lake Crescent because it is so beautiful, even if it is cold.
Time to dry off and think about dinner. It's almost 6pm.
But they're still having fun!
Dinner!
Ben wanted me to take this picture.
Sam had mussels!
Sunset!
I love the lodge at night. We are listening to a very funny and informative ranger presentation on the porch.
"Mom, that's a quasar I think!"
The next morning, skipping stones already!
I just love how he studies the stones then gives them a try.
Here comes Daddy with coffee for us! This is one of my favorite shots. Dave really takes wonderful care of us when we are out and about.
Off to breakfast!
Ben got a new friend, Battie, and Eagle is getting to know him.
This is what Eagle USED TO LOOK LIKE! Three years ago!
Bye, cottage!
We bought a baby Eagle for Esther, our neighbor, who is taking care of the chickens for a few days.
Pardon all these pictures, but I noticed wild sweet peas growing right in front of the cottage, and bees busy in them. I couldn't resist seeing if the camera could do a macro on the fly.
Full from breakfast!

Not sure which I like best. Any opinions?

Stream right by the cottage.
Taking a walk in the woods before heading out.
Such a funny face! He is always performing.
Walking the Moment in Time trail - a tradition for us. Soon these boys will be as big as these giant trees!
Not my favorite foursome! :)
I know one boy who will cooperate with meadow smootches!
Sure does!
This looks like tortoise stump!
I made a little something out of stuff we found on the beach. All of it. Like where it's hung? If Dave takes a turn too fast it bashes me in the head :)
A lunch stop in Port Angeles on the way home, including a nice visit to a marine museum.
Ben loves his Ranger vest!
And a last stop in Port Gamble to see the dahlias! Almost home now.
