Preschool lesson of the day. Funny how I had an eye infection on this day, and the light reflected above looks like an eye. Why are there so many weird coincidences with me??? When we went to the market later, it was fun to pick out produce that would help our eyes. Also learned about the rods and the cones. And why night-vision goggles are red. Your rods are not sensitive to red light so it does not cause your eyes to lose their adjustment to vision in the dark. Cool, huh? Rods are most sensitive to green, cones most sensitive to red. Cones are what provide visual acuity, rods are for peripheral and night vision.
Pu'u Ohia...another great hike!

We found another bunker! Great view of Diamond Head in the background!
We think the right size of group for a hike is however many you can fit on top of a bunker for a snack break. More than that might be a bit much! Unless you're at Bellows and wandering all over as a big gang :)
See my glasses? Totally not enjoying life with two red eyes. Have no idea what was up other than working too much and rubbing my eyes to focus!
Blowing his whistle...
Cute pair, huh? Ben with his cold (which he still has over a week later!) and me with my eyes.
