Mariner's Ridge

IMGP2604 We enjoyed a nice hike up Mariner's Ridge today with friends Nancy and Laurie and Nancy's two doggies. Sam loved watching them bound up the trail! He laughed and talked all the way up. imgp2611 Summit snacks!!! IMGP2618 Nancy kindly shared her snacks with Sam - he chomped about half of her sandwich I think, even though he'd just eaten a peanut butter and honey sandwich two hours earlier! IMGP2621 Sharing kisses with the doggies, too!
IMGP2622 Lots of laughs when the doggies kiss him :) IMGP2624 This is not as precarious as it looks - not at all! There was a good amount of space to move around, and you can't see the ledges behind us. We are not on an edge here :) imgp2625 Checking the dial to adjust the shock absorption. imgp2626 Ok mom, all set!
IMGP2628 Much of the trail was like this. Sam got to hike all the way down. IMGP2633 He loves to find letters and shapes on the trail. This time we found lots of shapes in the boot prints. imgp2636 "Sammy is TWO!" imgp2637
IMGP2640 We had a great time. Check out those new sunnies! Julbo has great sun protection for kids - this is LEVEL 4 - sounds cool, huh? You need it here. It is so bright. IMGP2647 Little buddy showing me the way down. Could the sky be any prettier? We have been talking about the word "rustle" and what it means. The grasses blowing in the breeze provided good opportunity to hear a rustle. We also saw an old volcano (Koko Head) so we talked about that for a while, too. He loves to learn. panorama Panorama from the top. That's looking north toward where we live.
