After school swim

The beach was totally full of swimmers, body surfers, skim boarders, walkers, but for the few seconds the setting sun popped back out I was able to race and grab this shot of Ben making some letters after wiping out on the sand. He and Sam were doing a game where Sam was hanging out at the water's edge and Ben would run by, expecting to be tripped by Sam! They were laughing so much. Ben took a bunch of huge waves, and Sam did some good body surfing. Great afternoon refreshment after a week of school. Then to Bob's pizza for dinner. Home by 5:38pm, fed and tired, and ready to see Daddy. Oh - funniest part was at dinner. Sam was clearing some trash - all towered up on a paper plate. A bit floppy. It spilled, half pepper, salad bowl, etc., amidst a crowded bunch of tables. As he was picking it up, he was muttering loudly to himself "Mom, why did I listen to you and your crazy rules. I am not doing this again. Not again!" The other parents nearby with little kids glanced at him, then me, and I was totally cracking up so they smiled knowingly. It was pretty funny.

I am totally laughing!!! I can hear the whole thing, tone and all!! Sure wish I’d been done with the laundromat so I could have been there — rats! Uhhhh, maybe it should be mentioned that Bob’s Pizza’s tables are outside, so it wasn’t a lovely, tableclothed indoor affair! Sam cracks me up!!! Love the story of the beach play, too, and lil Ben writing his letters in the sand. What great kids you have! Makes being “gramma” a pretty proud thing!
