a little wave

BK @ 10 wks 4 days

We’re 10 weeks and 4 days into this pregnancy and all is going well! Thank you to all those who have kept us in their prayers. Sammy got to see the little baby’s heartbeat again today, and even a little wave! Dave missed this ultrasound, but I’m hoping he can join in the fun we we go next on 11/8. We’re getting a lot of them due to our involvement in the infertility program, but after 11/8 we “graduate” and get to go to the routine OB clinic. (Not sure that’s a “get to” sorta thing but it’s nice to be “normal” this time.)

I’m feeling well and have decent energy. I’m still working on client projects, taking Sammy on adventures, cooking real dinners for Dave (yes – I am domestic once again!), and managing our homeowner’s association. What a pain in my neck that has been lately. I went to the trouble of reviewing code and ordinances for our pool, then brought us into compliance after many months of work researching and purchasing automatic gate closers and latches, marking the pool depth and getting lifesaving equipment installed. When I brought this all to the attention of our insurance company hoping that we’d get a premium reduction or at least increased coverage, they realized we HAD a pool in the first place. Can you believe it? We’ve had the pool for 20 years, and a notation on this company’s policy for 7 years, yet the coverage “fell off” and the rates never went down. Interesting. I am in the midst of deciding what recourse to take – but at a minimum I put the policy immediately out to bid and hope to have a better company on board by Friday, just 48 hrs later. Our policy expires next week. It was good timing to make a change. No apology nor explanation from our current carrier. Talk about exposure…we were all at risk and didn’t know it, thinking we were covered. Good thing none of the trespassing locals who jump off the pool shed ever broke their neck. Thanks for listening to me vent.
