We will be signing our documents on Tuesday, and moving in on Friday, 9/1! Our household goods were rescued from the pier and the movers are scheduled to bring them next Friday. We are so fortunate that everything has gone so smoothly. While this was definitely the most complicated move from a logistics perspective, it’s also gone more smoothly than any other move to date. We still can’t believe Caffrey made it though the direct release program with no quarantine, and that we were able to pick up both cars on the same day (one wasn’t scheduled for release until the next week).

Sam tested his new jogging stroller yesterday – it was so great to roll right over rough terrain without me having to be a human shock absorber! I like putting his platypus water reservoir in the back pouch so we can both reach it (there’s no tray for his cup). I also love the swivel wheel – I can push with one hand and drink my after-run latte with the other 🙂 Since Sam was a good sport about the run despite not feeling well, I took him to Lanikai Juice for a pick-me-up afterwards. They only have huge 16oz+ sizes so I asked for something smaller … I must confess that I also only had $2 on me! They weren’t busy, so one of the ladies made Sam a special smoothie made with strawberries, banana and orange with crushed ice. She even put it in a little “recipe book” for custom customer recipes – it’s filed under “Sam” so he can refer to it on his next visit. Total price – $1.82 🙂 Now I really feel like we’re ensconced in our new town!
