new logos!
Here’s what I’ve been up to lately for work…About two years ago I met a very talented designer (Alfredo Garma) through a friend and colleague, Wes (who owns Formaggio Grill here in Kailua, as well as four other restaurants). A long time ago Alfredo and I talked about swapping skills – I needed a logo and he needed a website. Then I traveled to the northeast for six weeks, had Ben, etc. We accomplished both in December and we’re both thrilled! Alfredo’s new website is www.garmagraphicdesign.com – check out his work. It’s very compelling. Since I don’t have funds for a logo for my non-profit Outdoor Ohana, I decided to try my hand at creating my own logo. It is nothing like Alfredo’s design for Artemis (my business) but it’s original me. That’s worth something. I tried his method – work freehand in a notebook first, sketching out the concept – then translate it to a digital image. I created business cards – front and back for both are shown above. I also finally finished up buttons for our little peakbaggers – I was behind by about 5 hikes. I’ve been very busy working on two books, a children’s book, manuscripts, grants, websites… I’m working what feels like full time because every spare second is focused. I don’t have time for personal projects these days…but hopefully I’ll be able to stick to some set hours for work and leave myself some wiggle room for other things I love to do. I am blessed to be busy and working with such interesting people. Alfredo – MAHALO!
