We found the garage floor!

Those of you who visited in November will know just how much work went into this endeavor 🙂 Dave’s dad and brother helped us carve a passageway through the piles of boxes, gear, scrap wood and other stuff, and Dave spent the last two days cleaning, organizing, hanging, and drilling to put everything away. One trip to the dump and one to the Salvation Army, and the rest is stowed. We can easily get at our camping gear, hiking poles and packs, bikes (we have 7, plus Sam has two already)… Don’t ask. Well, since I’m afraid you’re wondering – we each have a mountain bike and road bike, and we added beach cruisers when we got to Hawaii. Sam has a little mountain bike and a trike. We also store brother Dan’s mountain bike so he always has wheels whenever he visits us. Lest you think I was shirking in the house while Dave slaved away…you’re almost right. He was so mean about letting me touch anything and stow it that I wasn’t allowed in. So I took care of Sam, cleaned the inside of the house, and sifted through all our 2006 digital pictures to consolidate the photo album on this website. I had to do some research to figure out why my photos were taking up so much room on our server – I had maxed out our storage already! Once I figured out the problem, I was able to recover about 1GB (1000MB) of space 🙂 Certainly not as obvious a coup as the garage, but just as satisfying. So now we’re ready for a party in the garage…stay tuned 🙂

Sam’s new words: pie-a-o (pineapple), kawa-awai (Kalapawai, which is a cafe near us), upf, aw-wight, ok, oh boy, move, bee-ock (big rock, from hiking with mommy).
