you know you’ve had a long week when . . .

you don’t feel like typing initial caps; you leave the sunroof on your car open and it just happens to pour last night; you can’t find your truck keys in the morning on your way to work and find them IN the truck, battery dead. Yes – that was our morning, this morning, Friday 9/15. BUT, the good news is the flooring is all installed and things are mostly put back in place. Some wiring needs to be done, pictures hung, books stacked on shelves, etc. Sammy is MUCH happier now that his home is cleared of the mess and he can walk around safely. I am debating sharing the misadventures that have befallen him lately for fear that my readers will think I’m a bad mom. Maybe when you come visit I’ll divulge what he’s managed to get into lately. Or perhaps in a private communique by request only… I think Sam and I are going to head to a nursery when he wakes from his morning snooze (what a life, eh?) and check out dwarf citrus trees, passion fruit and hibiscus. We need a little more green in our tiny yard.
Life is really good here and we’re still pinching ourselves that it’s all real. We will be buying our last piece of essential gear this weekend – a used Hobie Odyssey tandem kayak in excellent condition. We found it on Craig’s list. (Yes, I’m addicted.) Pictures above. It is big enough to accommodate Sam in the middle, or in front with me. We’ll take it out on the little streams through the marsh by our house this weekend. I can’t wait to do something fun!!!!
We also found a nice family to donate our old carpet to through Craig’s list. You can find free stuff there, or barters (which is how we laid our floor). We sold our desktop this past week and made another new friend as well. Sam, Caff and I will be going to the Humane Society dog water park on Monday with them to celebrate the doggies’ birthdays (they have two Goldens).
I am looking forward to taking some pictures and video of the home for you this weekend. Stay tuned!
Did anyone notice the random quote generator I just added at the bottom of the home page? I love reading quotes – it suits my attention span well 🙂 Wish I was pithy enough to be quoted by someone.
