long crazy dayz

The contractors are almost done laying new tile and flooring in the kitchen/dining area and living room. I helped pull out tacks and carpet stuff today and Dave took a day off work to move furniture around. He’s dropping the guys off across the island now – their car is still in the shop. Poor Dave has been running around getting materials, loading up the truck with tile and wood, bringing young contractors and their tools to our site and back (they were catching the bus here but it was taking 3 hrs, so when we can give them a ride we do). It’s been insane. The house is a total wreck and I feel like I’ve completely lost my mind. i used to be able to find things – had some idea where it was since I try to be organized wherever I land. Even I can’t maintain a grip on things now because there are so many hands involved in moving stuff around. Caff got into the act this morning and dumped over my latte while I was taking the trash out. I came back, Sam on my hip (since it’s not safe to leave him anywhere due to tools, tiles, nails), only to find the dog lapping up my latte!!!! Nooo! I needed that! Tonight I was eating pizza with one hand and picking up washers and screws with the other. I got confused and put a washer in my mouth. It felt ok at first, until I realized it wouldn’t chew. I took it out before things got out of hand. I am tired! Sam went to Auntie Angel’s yesterday and today to have some respite from all this and allow me to work on a project I was on deadline for today. All is well, got the work done, Sam had a wonderful time and we should be all moved in by Friday night. That’s our hope. I picked Sam up from Angel’s on my beach cruiser and we rode down to the beach to play in the sand for a bit this afternoon. It was really great – I think I saw one of the other Hawaiian islands from the beach. I’ll have to check a map to see which one it was, or if it was a hallucination! I took a picture last night of the disarray. When I can stomach offloading/uploading it, I will. I liked Mary’s last comment – “hope you’re finding time to relax” – HA! Soon :0

You are a riot!!! I’m finally tuning in to the blog — from a hotel in Brussels after a long week of not being able to get a wi-fi signal!

You’re doing GREAT! At least you didn’t swallow the washer!
