It really feels like home now that we can cook something to eat! And yes, Dave’s clothes are now in the closet. The four foot heap is totally gone! Goodwill is really going to be happy, too. We’ve been unpacking and assembling all week. It feels good to know we can settle in here for five years. I finally uploaded pictures and video from last weekend. When we are settled in, I will take a video of the house and environs for you. I hope to do that by next weekend at the latest. Our experience is that whatever you accomplish in the first two weeks is it…wherever stuff has landed at the end of that period, it will likely stay there. You get used to seeing it for a while in one place and it starts to “belong” there. So we’re trying to stay relaxed about the move-in and not do it in our usual 3 days, but at the same time not drag it on past 2-weeks. Dave is busy assembling stuff right now. I am checking out travertine tiles – we found a guy on Craig’s list who offered to barter tile installation for a laptop. So we made a deal and we’re replacing the cracked tiles in the kitchen this weekend. Maybe a little ambitious since we haven’t lived here a week yet, but we’re excited. We’re also talking about reconfiguring our outdoor space a bit. It’s so fun to daydream!

I’ve enjoyed reading your comments…I hope you enjoy the video! Sam would like everyone to know that he is a bit under the weather today – possible strep – but will be back at his usual mischief soon! Poor little guy took his naps on a changing pad on the kitchen floor to stay cool and near mommy. He has been so listless, just lying on the floor, gazing up at me. I like him feverish – he is cuddly – but I did give him Tylenol to cool him off. His fever made him sick to his stomach this morning.
