Enjoying our Mother's Day fruit plate on the new patio.

(My camera SD card bit the dust, so for now all we have are cell phone pictures.) Here we are enjoying Dave’s traditional Mother’s Day fruit plate on our new patio! The boys (all of them, and me, too!) built a patio yesterday from pavers we had lying around for another project. It took a lot of work getting the old, beat-up grass out and leveling the area. But Caff had helped a bit while we were away by digging a cool spot to lie down. We found this little bistro table at the Exchange – it’s perfect! We can sit and enjoy the little gardens we’ve built along the side of the house and look up to enjoy our mature papaya tree (Dave’s birthday present from two years ago.) Now we’ve lined up a bunch of our tea light holders from all the homes we’ve lived in on the fence and will have a little cactus garden up there. Nice to see the tea lights back in action and a special little spot for mom and dad to retreat 🙂 Who knows when we’ll hide out there but the house is so small we can hear mischief while hidden away sipping a glass of wine and come running. Can’t wait to have Mom and Richard try it out! We’re going to move a grill over there, too, so it’s closer to the kitchen. Thank you, Dave, Sam and Ben for my Mother’s Day treat!
