a sammy bunny

a rectangle baby

On our way to a doctor appointment, I told Sammy we’d like to give him a baby brother or sister. When I asked him what kind of baby he’d like, he gave me a little smile and blurted “a rectangle!” I immediately pictured labor and delivery for such a baby…ugh! Sam was a big baby at 9lbs 8oz, but a rectangle of any size would be worse, I think! Here’s hoping we are able to conceive a different shape… 🙂

our first centipede!

a centipede

Sam and I were out for some coffee after a run to the hardware store and I happened to glance over his shoulder to the ground behind him…I saw what looked like a roach caught in the door jamb. I went inside to grab the manager and he emerged to slay the beast with … a knife and fork! I was almost hysterical laughing and squealing in delight and apprehension. He stabbed it with his fork, then picked it up – the long segmented tail was twitching. He then cut off the head and the tail kept twitching. It’s now sitting in some rocks waiting for local birds to have a feast. I guess they don’t mind the toxin that causes your skin to disintegrate! yuck!
